Millie Bobby Brown has broken her silence on the rumours that she might be appearing in a Britney Spears biopic.
Last month, fans began to speculate that the young actor might be in the running to play the legendary pop star after Brown underwent a blonde hair transformation.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the LA premiere of her new Netflix movie, The Electric State, Brown addressed the rumours, seemingly putting her name forward for the job.
She said: "Nothing would make me happier than being able to play such an iconic, beautiful person. I leave that to the gods."
Brown previously told Access Hollywood that she had ambitions to play Britney, saying she would "love nothing more than to be a part of her story", adding: "I would want someone to bring it to life in the most beautiful way, and I'd always be open to that."
Last year Britney announced that a biopic about her life was in the works following Universal's acquisition of the rights to her memoir The Woman in Me.
"Excited to share with my fans that I've been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He's always made my favorite movies … stay tuned," she said on social media.
It was later reported by Variety that Wicked director Jon M Chu was on board to direct the book adaptation alongside La La Land producer Marc Platt.
Elsewhere in the interview, Brown opened up about her decision to go blonde after being asked if she dyed her hair for The Electric State.
"Well I went blonde for the filming of it," she said. "And then I went back to my brunette and then the press tour was coming up and I wanted people to just feel like they're watching the same character on the red carpet."

There are other old-Hollywood offerings, including more from Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor and newer pieces that previously graced the bods of Cher, Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse and Victoria Beckham.
Britney Spears’s star bra
Mackie is parting with this four-piece burlesque ensemble — bra, underwear and armbands — worn by the pop star. He originally designed it for the 1981 Las Vegas production of Jubilee! and Spears later “borrowed them and flaunted them” for her 2001 HBO Dream Within a Dream Tour concert special, Nolan said. “It’s timeless and could be worn by a rock star today.”
The undergarments were handmade in France using a blush fabric for a nude illusion. Spears wore them over jeans, while performing her hit “...Baby One More Time.” In her memoir, she called it her “best tour,” crediting the “brilliant” minds behind it and being styled properly. The set is expected to sell for between $6,000 and $8,000.
A replica of the jeans — Levi's 501 medium wash, designed by Corbin Struck, with a 30-inch waist — are also up for bid.
Sam Asghari Reveals Britney Spears's Conservatorship Was the "Most Difficult" Part of Their Marriage
Sam said he's “always gonna be grateful and happy” to have been in Britney's life.
Sam Asghari may have been legally obligated to refrain from talking about his ex-wife Britney Spears on season 3 of The Traitors...but he just opened up about how their marriage was a "crash course in Hollywood" in a recent interview. During an appearance on Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson's Sibling Revelry podcast, Sam got candid about married life with the pop pioneer.
When he got romantically involved with Britney in 2016, Sam thought her colossal levels of fame would be the hardest thing to get used to—that is, until he realized she had been in a conservatorship since 2008.
“One day I start learning about what the conservatorship is, and that’s when I was like, ‘Wait a minute. I thought I’m in America. What do you mean someone over the age of 18 needs permission from their parents?'” Sam explained to the Hudsons, adding, “That was the most difficult and weird spiral thing that I’ve witnessed in my life.”
Sam also shared how he supported Britney when they were together, saying he had to handle everything gently. "I think the best thing to do is to provide support in that moment and that’s what I did, I provided as much as I could," he said.
He continued, seemingly referring to Britney's father, Jamie Spears, and his position as her conservator. "One of the hardest things, I think, to deal with when you go into entertainment is your parents and the people around you, and everything that happens, and everybody that comes into your life that’s taken advantage," Sam added. "That damages you, because those are the people that are closest to you. Usually, the people that are around you, the people that you allow into your circle, you kind of are vulnerable to them."
Though he and Britney split after being married for 14 months, Sam shared nothing but well wishes for the hitmaker and revealed that he's “always gonna be grateful and happy” to have played a role in her life. “It was so much that we gone through so much as a couple,” he gushed. “We learned so much and it was a beautiful experience.”
Catching up with Britney Spears' team earlier today offered a glimpse into the next chapter of her journey, one that continues to evolve post-conservatorship.
While she has taken a noticeable step back from the relentless pace of the music industry, her creative spirit remains as strong as ever as she looks to writing and producing select film/TV projects.
Though music and live performances aren’t at the forefront of her plans, fans can still expect to see Spears back in the public eye as she gears up to promote upcoming projects.
Her focus may have shifted, but her influence remains undeniable.
Through every challenge, Spears has shown remarkable resilience, and her ability to navigate life on her own terms is a testament to her strength.
No matter where her path leads, the world continues to watch, support, and celebrate the iconic artist she is.
