Britney Slumber Party Live

Britney Spears has officially been released from the restrictive conservatorship placed on her in 2008 by her dad, Jamie Spears.

Britney Spears’ long-running conservatorship has finally come to an end.

The star was officially released from the restrictive arrangement after a Los Angeles judge ruled on Friday (local time) that it was “untenable” and reflective of a “toxic environment.”

Spears celebrated the news on Instagram, saying it was the “best day ever” and expressing her love for fans behind the Free Britney movement.

“Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy️! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day! Best day ever. Praise the Lord. Can I get an Amen?” she wrote.

She also updated the Free Britney hashtag with one that read, “#FreedBritney”.

Britney Spears is sharing her frustrations with her fans. The 39-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Monday to call out some members of her family for "hurting" her with their behavior.

"Don't you find it weird when you jump through hoops to organize trips or set up lunch dates with people you love only to know they'll bail on you or leave after 10 minutes," Britney wrote, without sharing any specifics.

"It's humiliating and it's like every person I've ever opened to immediately says they'll be gone on a trip for two weeks after ... OK I get it ... they're only available to me when it's convenient for them ... well I'm no longer available to any of them now," she added. "I don't mind being alone ... and actually I'm tired of being this understanding Mother Teresa ... if you're rude to me then I'm done ... peace out ✌🏼 !!!"

Britney's continued in her message, shared alongside a photo of her mini-typewriter and some pink roses, "This message is to my family ... for hurting me deeper than you'll ever know !!!"

"I know the conservatorship is about to be over but I still want justice!!!" she concluded. "I'm only 5'4" and I've played the bigger person my entire life ... do you know how hard that is ???"

While Britney's conservatorship has not yet been fully terminated, after hearing from both the singer and her dad, Jamie Spears', lawyers at a court hearing in September, Judge Brenda Penny agreed to suspend the singer's dad as the conservator of her estate. Jamie's official removal will be decided at a later hearing.

The judge appointed Certified Public Accountant John Zabel as the temporary replacement until the petition to terminate Britney's conservatorship is heard on Nov. 12.

Following the decision, Britney's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, told ET's Lauren Zima that the pop star was "happy" about the decision.

"I think you can assume she's very happy," he shared, also telling reporters that "the goal" is to free Britney from her conservatorship by her 40th birthday on Dec. 2.

Britney Spears scored a legal victory Wednesday in her fight to regain control of her life.

A Los Angeles judge suspended Jamie Spears, the singer's father, as conservator of her estimated $60 million dollar estate and designated a temporary replacement to oversee her finances.
Mathew Rosengart, attorney for Britney Spears, described the elder Spears as a "cruel, toxic and abusive man," adding his client wants him out "today."
"Britney deserves to wake up tomorrow without her father as her conservator," Rosengart said. "It is what my client wants, it what my client needs, it is what my client deserves."

He cited behavior he called "unfathomable," based on reporting by the New York Times. Rosengart accused the elder Spears of placing a recording device in his daughter's bedroom, an allegation a representative for Jamie Spears did not respond to when previously contacted by CNN.

"We learned Mr. Spears did something unfathomable," Rosengart said. "He instructed [a] security team, paid for by my client, to place a listening device in Britney's bedroom."

In response, Vivian Thoreen, attorney for Jamie Spears, said "It's not evidence, it's rhetoric."

Rosengart said the singer, who did not attend Wednesday's hearing, would like an orderly transition and an opportunity to put a plan in place to terminate her conservatorship altogether in the next 30 to 45 days.
Judge Penny set a court date to consider that request on November 12. An additional hearing was scheduled for December 13 to address other outstanding matters in the case.

Over the summer, Britney Spears made a powerful plea to end the court-ordered arrangement, describing the way her father has managed her conservatorship as "f---ing cruelty."

"I just want my life back. It's been 13 years, and it's enough," Spears said in June.

Jamie Spears has served has conservator of his daughter's estate since its inception. He was also the conservator of her person, overseeing her health and medical issues until he stepped aside in 2019. Jodi Montgomery was appointed conservator of Spears' person at that time, a position she still holds.

Supporters of Spears gathered outside the courthouse celebrated developments from the hearing on Wednesday.

Sam Asghari, Spears' fiancé, credited her fans.

"Free Britney! Congratulations!!!! he wrote on Instagram. "She did this. Her fanbase is called the army for a reason.

Britney Spears announced her engagement Sunday to her boyfriend Sam Asghari with an exuberant post displaying a diamond ring engraved with the word “lioness.”

The news comes days after her father filed to end the court conservatorship that has controlled the singer’s life and money for 13 years.

She wrote “I can’t fucking believe it!” with an Instagram video post where she winks, kisses a smiling Asghari on the cheek and answers “yes!” when he asks if she likes the ring.

Asghari posted his own photo of Spears showing her ring finger to the camera.

The four-carat diamond ring is engraved inside the band with “lioness” because it’s his nickname for her, the company Forever Diamonds NY said in a statement.
