Britney Spears is not planning a wedding in Las Vegas, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim, which falsely alleges the singer wants to tie the knot in Sin City. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to the National Enquirer, Spears is currently organizing her “secret wedding” to Sam Asghari in Vegas. A so-called “source” is quoted as telling the supermarket tabloid, “Britney thinks she’s found her soulmate in Sam. All the others just don’t compare to this.” The publication’s supposed “insider” further maintains Spears’ dad and business manager Jamie even presented the fitness model with an “iron clad prenup agreement to protect her $200 million fortune” and “he signed it with no questions asked.”
The outlet’s questionable “source” also claims to have details about upcoming alleged wedding. The tipster says Spears and Asghari, who have been dating for a little more than a year, are “writing their vows.” “The ceremony will be with just a couple of witnesses,” contends the magazine’s purported insider, before adding, “Britney’s worked so hard for years,” and “now she just wants to enjoy her life with Sam.”
Gossip Cop fact-checked the tabloid’s claim, and we’ve learned the story is false. While Spears is happy with 23-year-old Asghari, she’s not planning a Las Vegas wedding with him anytime soon. What’s more, even though Spears has discussed wanting to get married again, saying that she “believes in the fairytale” of marriage, she isn’t getting ready to tie right now. A source close to the singer tells us the entire report is 100 percent “not true.”
Of course, we’re not remotely surprised by the publication’s latest fabrication about the singer. Gossip Cop previously corrected the Enquirer, for example, when it falsely claimed some time ago that Spears was adopting a baby girl from Africa. A lot of time has passed since that report and clearly the tabloid was wrong. Much like that bogus story and many others, this latest tale about Spears and Asghari planning a wedding in Las Vegas is equally off-base.
